Your Favourites list is one of Airlocum's most powerful features for practices that want to maintain quality control while maximizing booking success rates. This guide will show you how to build and use your Favourites list strategically.

Why Use a Favourites List?

The Problem: Sending booking requests to just 1-2 locums (even when 30+ are available) significantly reduces your chances of someone accepting. You're essentially playing against probability.

The Solution: Build a curated Favourites list of 15-30 trusted locums, then use the "Show my favourites" filter when booking.

How to Build Your Favourites List

Method 1: Add During Search

  1. Go to the Search Results page

  2. Browse locum profiles

  3. Click the heart icon at the bottom of any profile you'd like to add

  4. The heart will turn solid green, confirming they're added to your Favourites

Method 2: Add from Previous Bookings

  1. Review locums you've worked with successfully before

  2. Search for them by name

  3. Click the heart icon on their profiles to add them

Recommended Favourites List Size

Aim for 15-30+ locums for optimal results:

  • Less than 15: May not provide enough options for consistent bookings

How to Use Your Favourites List

When Booking:

  1. Go to Search Results

  2. Click "Show my favourites" filter

  3. Send your booking request to selected locums from your curated list

  4. Your request will only go to pre-approved locums

For Automated Rebookings:

When you use the "Show my favourites" filter, our automated rebooking system (which activates after 2 hours if no one accepts) will respect this filter and only resend to your Favourites list - never to all available locums.

Managing Your Favourites List

Adding New Locums:

  • After successful shifts, add high-performing locums to your Favourites

  • Regularly review available locums to expand your list

  • Ask for recommendations from other practice managers

Removing Locums:

  • Click the heart icon again to remove a locum from your Favourites

  • Review your list quarterly to ensure it stays current

  • Remove locums who are no longer active or available

Best Practices

Building Your Initial List:

  • Start with locums you've worked with successfully

  • Look for locums with high star ratings (4.5+ stars)

  • Check reliability scores (aim for 90%+ reliability)

  • Consider location (prioritize those within reasonable travel distance)

Using Filters with Favourites:

  • Combine "Show my favourites" with other filters (price, skills, distance)

  • This gives you even more targeted results from your approved list

Regular Maintenance:

  • Review and update your Favourites list monthly

  • Add new high-performers after successful shifts

  • Remove locums who are consistently unavailable

Troubleshooting

"My Favourites list is empty"

  • You haven't added any locums yet

  • Start by doing a search and clicking heart icons on suitable profiles

"I can't find the heart icon"

  • The heart icon appears at the bottom right of each locum profile's summary card

"My booking still went to all locums"

  • Check that you selected "Show my favourites" filter before sending

  • Ensure your Favourites list isn't empty
