Cancellations by Practices

When a practice cancels a confirmed booking, it can have a major impact on the locum — especially if they’ve already arranged travel, childcare, or turned down other work.

Late Cancellation Policy

  • If a practice cancels with less than 18 hours’ notice before the shift start time, the full day rate will still be charged.

Why This Policy Exists

  • Protects locums from last-minute income loss.

  • Recognises the time and cost invested by the locum in preparing for the shift.

  • Aims to strike a fair balance between practice flexibility and locum security.

Bottom line: Practices are encouraged to give as much notice as possible when cancelling to maintain good relationships with locums and avoid cancellation charges.

If a practice cancels a booking request before any locum accepted the posted job there's no charge to the practice.
