A no-show occurs when a locum fails to attend a confirmed shift without giving any prior notification to the practice or Airlocum. No-shows cause serious disruption for dental practices and affect patient care, so they are treated very seriously.
Consequences of a No-Show
If you fail to attend a confirmed shift without notice:
£50 fee charged automatically to your linked Stripe account.
Temporary account suspension while the incident is reviewed.
One strike added to your record.
2 strikes within 6 months may result in permanent account deactivation.
Reinstatement Process
First No-Show: You must complete a mandatory video call with an Airlocum representative before you can take new bookings.
Second No-Show: Your account will undergo a full review to determine if permanent deactivation is necessary.
Appeal Process
You can appeal a no-show decision within 48 hours by providing written documentation of extenuating circumstances (e.g., medical emergency, serious personal incident).
Positive Reinforcement
To reward reliability:
Maintain a perfect attendance record for 6 consecutive months and all previous strikes will be cleared from your account.
How to Avoid a No-Show
We understand emergencies happen. If you can’t make a shift:
Cancel the booking as soon as possible via the Airlocum platform.
If the shift is imminent, contact our support team immediately via phone, live chat, or email.
Provide as much notice as possible so we can help the practice find a replacement.
Why This Matters:
Protects your professional reputation on Airlocum.
Maintains trust with practices, increasing your chances of repeat bookings.
Avoids financial penalties and account restrictions.
💡 Tip: High reliability scores and a strong attendance history can help you appear higher in search results and receive earlier booking notifications.
