What to do

1

Go to Payment Methods

Log in to your Airlocum account and navigate to Payment Methods in your profile or account settings.

2

Click 'Add a card'

Click the green Add a card button to open the Stripe-secured card entry form.

You will need:

  • Long card number (16 digits)

  • Expiry date (MM/YY)

  • 3-digit CVC (on the back of the card)

  • Billing postcode - the postcode registered to the card at your bank. See note below.

4

Click 'Continue'

Your card is saved instantly. You are now ready to send booking requests to dental locums.

⚠️ Don't forget the billing postcode - it's the most commonly missed field

The billing postcode is the postcode registered to the card at your bank.

It may be different from your practice postcode.

Your card will not save without it. If your card is declined, check this field first.

Security and Payment Protection

🔒 Your card is protected by Stripe

Card payments are processed by Stripe — the same platform used by Apple, Google, Amazon, and Spotify. Certified to PCI DSS Level 1.

Your card details are encrypted and never stored on Airlocum's servers.

You are only charged after the locum's shift is completed and you approve their timesheet.

You have a 24-hour window to review and approve the timesheet before any payment is processed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why won't my card save?

The most common cause is a missing or incorrect billing postcode. This is the postcode registered to the card at your bank - it may differ from your practice address. Double-check the postcode field and try again. If the problem continues, contact support via live chat.

When will my card be charged?

Your card is only charged after the locum's shift is completed and you have approved their timesheet. You will never be charged upfront. If you take no action within 24 hours of receiving the timesheet, payment is processed automatically.

Can I update or remove my card later?

Yes. Go to Payment Methods in your account settings at any time to update or remove a card.

Do I have another payment option instead of card?

Yes — Airlocum also offers invoicing. Go to Payment Methods and click 'Activate Invoicing'. See: How to Set Up Payment Methods for a full comparison.

Support available via live chat - ask to speak to a person at any time.
