What Happens If a Practice Doesn’t Pay for My Shift?
✅ Quick answer Airlocum guarantees your payment. No locum has ever gone unpaid through Airlocum. If a practice fails to pay, we pay you from our own funds within 5 days. You never have to chase a practice for money. |
Airlocum has a Payment Protection System that ensures you receive your full payment for every completed shift, regardless of whether the practice pays on time. How this works depends on how the practice pays.
How Does Payment Protection Work?
Card-paying practices — payment is processed automatically via Stripe once the timesheet is approved. There is zero risk of non-payment because the funds are captured at the point of booking.
Invoice-paying practices — if a practice misses their payment deadline, our escalation process kicks in:
What happens | |
Days 1–5 | We chase the practice via text, email, and phone calls. |
Day 6 | If payment is still outstanding, Airlocum pays you in full from our own funds. |
After payment to you | We continue pursuing the practice for reimbursement. You never have to chase payment yourself. |
What Does This Mean for Me?
• Your payment might be delayed by up to 6 days while we follow up with the practice — but only for invoice-paying practices.
• After day 6, you receive your full payment regardless of whether the practice has paid us.
• Airlocum absorbs all the collection risk. You never deal with bad debt or awkward conversations.
📊 The facts Less than 0.1% of practices default on payment. No locum has ever gone unpaid through Airlocum. |
