Group-wide Rate Controls
⚠️ Corporate admin access required Rate controls are managed from the Corporate HQ dashboard and apply across all linked practice locations. Individual practice managers can view the rate limits set by HQ but cannot change them. If you do not have corporate admin access, contact your Airlocum account manager or the support team. |
Group-wide rate controls let corporate HQ set a maximum hourly rate for each locum role across all practice locations. Once set, only locums whose rates fall within the approved range appear in search results for your practice managers — preventing budget overruns without removing their ability to choose the best available locum.
Changes take effect across all linked locations within 24 hours of saving. No IT setup or training is required.
How Rate Controls Work
What HQ sets | What practice managers see |
Maximum hourly rate per role | Only locums at or below the set rate appear in search results |
Separate limits per role type | Full choice of locums within the approved range — rate filter still works within those limits |
Applies across all locations | No action needed at practice level — controls activate automatically within 24 hours |
How to Set Rate Controls
# | Step | What to do |
1 | Open Corporate Settings | Log in to your Corporate HQ dashboard. Navigate to Company Details → Set your locum hourly rate limits. |
2 | Select a role | Choose the role you want to set a rate limit for: • Nurses & Receptionists • Hygienists & Therapists • Dentists |
3 | Enter the maximum rate | Enter the maximum all-inclusive hourly rate for that role. If you need current market rate data to benchmark against, contact the support team — Airlocum can provide this. |
4 | Save and apply | Click Save. The rate control applies across all linked practice locations within 24 hours. No action is required at individual practice level. |
5 | Repeat per role | Repeat steps 2–4 for each role type you want to cap. |
💡 Not sure what rates to set? Contact the Airlocum support team via live chat — the team can provide current market rate data for each role type and location to help you set accurate, competitive limits. Setting limits too low may reduce the number of available locums in search results, particularly in higher-cost regions such as London and the South East. |
How to Update or Remove a Rate Control
To change an existing rate limit, follow the same steps above and enter the new maximum rate. To remove a rate limit entirely for a role, clear the rate field and save — practice managers will then see all available locums for that role with no upper limit applied.
⚠️ Lowering a rate limit mid-month If you lower a rate limit, it applies to new bookings only. Existing confirmed bookings are not affected. Notify practice managers before making significant changes so they can plan accordingly. |

Frequently Asked Questions
Do rate controls apply to all practice locations automatically?
Yes. Once saved in Corporate Settings, rate controls apply to all linked locations within 24 hours. Individual practice managers do not need to take any action.
Can practice managers override the rate limits set by HQ?
No. Rate limits set in the Corporate HQ dashboard are enforced automatically. Locums above the set rate will not appear in search results for practice managers at any linked location.
What happens to existing bookings if I lower a rate limit?
Existing confirmed bookings are not affected by a change in rate limits. The new limit applies to new booking requests only.
Can I set different rate limits for different locations?
Rate controls are currently set group-wide across all locations rather than per individual site. If you need location-specific rate management, contact the support team to discuss your requirements.
Will practice managers be notified when rate limits change?
Rate limit changes are not currently pushed as notifications to practice managers. It is recommended that HQ communicates significant rate changes directly before they take effect.
