Should I Add a Profile Photo?

✅ Short answer: Yes — and do it now

Locums with a profile photo receive 2–3× more booking requests than those without one.

It takes less than 60 seconds to add. A missing photo costs you bookings every day it’s absent.

Why Practices Care

When a practice manager is choosing between two locums, they will always book the one they can see. A missing photo reads as unverified — and in a decision that takes under 10 seconds, doubt means they scroll past you.

A clear, professional photo builds immediate trust before you’ve said a word or stepped into the practice. Combined with strong reviews and a complete skills section, it is one of the fastest ways to increase your booking rate without changing anything else about your profile.

Photo Requirements

Your photo must meet these criteria to be accepted:

• ✅ Clear, well-lit, and in focus

• ✅ Plain white background

• ✅ Full face and top of shoulders visible

• ✅ Face centred in the frame

• ✅ Only you in the photo

• ✅ No hats or sunglasses — prescription glasses and religious garments are fine

📸 Think LinkedIn headshot, not passport photo

Practices want to see a professional they’d welcome into their team.

Good lighting and a relaxed expression go a long way. You don’t need a professional photographer — a phone camera in natural light against a white wall is enough.
