How to Change Your Default Payout Method in Stripe
By Eugene Bojé, Founder of Airlocum
If you have more than one bank account or card connected to your Stripe account, you can choose which one receives your Airlocum payouts by setting it as your default payout method.
Steps to Change Your Default Payout Method
Log in to Stripe
From your Airlocum dashboard, go to Get Paid → Open Stripe Dashboard
Or log in directly at
Go to Bank Accounts and Scheduling
On mobile app: Tap Settings → Payout settings or Bank accounts
Select Your New Default Account
Find the account you want to use for payouts
Click or tap Make default for payouts (or Set as default)
Confirm the Change
All future payouts will now go to your selected bank account
You can remove the old account if you no longer want it on your Stripe profile
Good to know Changing your default only affects future payouts. Any payout already in progress will still go to the account that was set as default at the time it was created. |
Frequently Asked Questions
I can't see a “Make default” option — what should I do?
Stripe occasionally updates its menus, so the exact wording can vary. Look under Settings for anything referring to bank accounts, payouts, or payout scheduling. If you still can't find it, contact Airlocum support via live chat and we'll guide you through it.
Will changing my default account delay my payout?
No. Setting a new default doesn't change your payout schedule — only the destination for future payouts.
Can I have payouts split across two accounts?
No. Stripe sends each payout to a single default account. You can switch the default whenever you like, but payouts aren't split between accounts.
Manage your payouts
You can update your payout details any time from your Airlocum profile. Go to Get Paid in your Airlocum profile to open your Stripe Dashboard.
