Locked Out of Stripe? Here’s How to Regain Access
✅ Quick answer Go to stripe.com/recover and follow the identity verification steps. Stripe will restore your access once verified. Airlocum cannot bypass this process — it’s handled entirely by Stripe for your security. |
The most common reason for being locked out of Stripe is changing your phone number. Stripe sends login verification codes via SMS to your registered number — if that number is no longer active, you can’t receive the code. The fix is Stripe’s own account recovery process.
How Do I Regain Access to My Stripe Account?
Step 1 — Start Stripe’s recovery process Go to stripe.com/recover in your browser. Step 2 — Verify your identity Stripe will ask you to either: • Upload a photo of your ID document (passport or driving licence) • Or answer security questions about your account Provide as much detail as possible to speed up approval. Step 3 — Stripe reviews and restores access Once verified, Stripe will: • Send you a secure link to regain access • Let you disable two-factor authentication • Restore full access to your account |
🔒 Why can’t Airlocum fix this for me? Stripe is a separate, independent payment platform. For your security, Airlocum does not have access to your Stripe login credentials or two-factor authentication settings. Account recovery must go through Stripe directly. This protects you from anyone — including us — accessing your payment account without your authorisation. |
How Do I Prevent This Happening Again?
• Update your phone number in Stripe before you switch phones. Log in to your Stripe Dashboard, go to Settings, and update your phone number while you still have access to your current one.
• Save your Stripe backup codes. When you set up two-factor authentication, Stripe provides backup codes. Store these somewhere safe — they let you log in even if you lose access to your phone.
• Download the Stripe Dashboard app. Available on iOS and Android. Having the app on your new phone makes it easier to stay connected to your account.
💰 Will my payments be affected while I’m locked out? No. Being locked out of Stripe does not stop your payments from processing. Practices still pay for your shifts, and Stripe still sends payouts to your registered bank account automatically. You just can’t view your dashboard until access is restored. |
