How to Rate & Review a Locum
By Eugene Bojé, Founder of Airlocum
⚡ Quick answer You'll receive an automated 'Review Your Locum' email at 4pm on the day of the booking. Or go to your Bookings page, click the ⋯ icon on the right of the shift, and select 'Rate your locum'. Reviews take less than two minutes to complete. |
Leaving a review after each shift is one of the most important things a practice can do on Airlocum. Reviews build the public ratings and reliability scores that appear on every locum's profile - giving other practices the confidence to book them. They also directly influence which locums appear highest in your search results on future bookings, and whether a locum is automatically added to your Favourites list.
Two Ways to Leave a Review
Method 1 Email reminder (recommended)
Airlocum automatically sends a 'Review Your Airlocum Locum' email to your practice at 4pm on the day of the booking. Click the stars link in the email to go directly to the review form for that shift — no login or navigation required.
Method 2 — Bookings dashboard
You can also access the review form at any time through your Airlocum dashboard.
1. Go to your Bookings page in your Airlocum dashboard. 2. Find the relevant shift and click the ⋯ icon on the far right of the row. 3. Select Rate your locum from the dropdown menu. 4. Complete the review form and submit. |
💡 Reviews can be submitted at any time You don't have to review immediately. The email reminder arrives at 4pm on the shift day, but you can access the review form through your Bookings dashboard at any point after the shift has been completed. Leaving a review while the shift is fresh gives the most accurate and useful feedback. |
What the Review Covers - The Seven Questions
The review form asks seven questions about the locum's performance. Each one feeds directly into their visible profile rating and influences how Airlocum's booking algorithm prioritises them for future shifts.
# | Question | Why it matters |
1 | Did the locum arrive on time for their shift? | Affects reliability score and algorithm ranking |
2 | Was the locum's appearance professional? | Contributes to overall star rating |
3 | Did the locum have a positive attitude towards their work and the team? | Contributes to overall star rating |
4 | Did the locum proactively ask where they could help or take initiative during downtime? | Contributes to overall star rating |
5 | How would you rate the value provided by the locum relative to their hourly rate? | Contributes to overall star rating |
6 | Did the locum use their time productively, avoiding distractions like personal phone use? | Contributes to overall star rating |
7 | Would you have this locum back for future shifts? | Yes = locum added to your Favourites list automatically |
At the end of the form you also give an overall star rating: 5 stars (Excellent), 4 stars (Very Good), 3 stars (Good), 2 stars (Fair), or 1 star (Poor).
What Happens After You Submit a Review?
Your review has three immediate effects:
Effect | What happens |
⭐ Star rating updated | Your review is factored into the locum's visible profile star rating immediately. Other practices will see the updated score on future searches. |
🔄 Algorithm ranking adjusted | Airlocum's booking algorithm prioritises locums based on distance, star rating, and reliability score. Higher ratings mean the locum is notified earlier — in faster booking waves — making their shifts fill quicker. |
❤️ Favourites auto-updated | If you answered 'Yes' to Question 7 ('Would you have this locum back?'), the locum is automatically added to your Favourites list. You can then prioritise them on future bookings using the 'My Favourites First' filter. |
