How to Use the Locum Blocklist on Airlocum

The Blocklist feature lets dental practices permanently exclude specific locums from their search results and booking suggestions. Once a locum is blocked, they will never appear in your results or receive booking requests from your practice. For multi-site dental groups, a Corporate Shared Blocklist enforces the same standards automatically across every location in your group.

⚡ At a glance

✔ Block any locum directly from the Blocklist tab in your Airlocum account

✔ Blocked locums are removed from your search results and booking suggestions immediately

✔ Unblock at any time with one click

✔ Corporate groups: use the Shared Blocklist to apply exclusions across all practice locations

How to Block a Locum — Step by Step

1. Log in to your Airlocum account and navigate to the Blocklist tab in the main menu.

2. Under 'Add a locum to your blocklist', type the locum's name in the search bar.

3. Two options will appear next to each result:

Option

What it does

View Profile

Opens the locum's full profile — including their ratings, reviews, qualifications, and reliability score — so you can review their record before making a decision.

Block

Immediately adds the locum to your Blocklist. They will no longer appear in your search results or receive booking requests from your practice.

💡 Tip: Review the profile first

Use 'View Profile' before blocking to check the locum's ratings and reviews from other practices.

A low rating combined with negative reviews gives you full context before making the exclusion permanent.

You can always unblock a locum later if circumstances change.

Viewing and Managing Your Blocklist

All blocked locums appear in the Blocked Locums section, below the search bar on the Blocklist tab.

Action

How

Corporate Groups: Shared Blocklist Across All Locations

For dental groups managing multiple practice locations, Airlocum's Corporate Shared Blocklist allows a central administrator to apply exclusions across every site in the group simultaneously. A locum blocked at the group level will not appear in search results at any of your group's practices — without practice managers needing to take individual action.

🏢 Corporate Shared Blocklist — key points

Ensures consistent quality and compliance standards across all sites.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Airlocum Blocklist?

The Blocklist is a feature that lets dental practices exclude specific locums from all their search results and booking suggestions. Once blocked, a locum will never appear in that practice's search results or receive booking requests from them. The block can be reversed at any time.

Does the locum know they have been blocked?

No. Blocked locums are not notified. They simply will not see your practice's booking requests or appear in your search results.

Can I unblock a locum after blocking them?

Yes. Go to the Blocklist tab, find the locum in your Blocked Locums section, and click the 'X' icon next to their name. They will immediately become eligible to appear in your search results again.

Is the Blocklist the same as removing a locum from my Favourites?

No. The Favourites list is for locums you want to prioritise. The Blocklist is for permanent exclusion. A locum can be on neither list, on the Favourites list only, or on the Blocklist — but not both at the same time.

Can corporate dental groups share a Blocklist across all their practices?

Yes. Airlocum offers a Corporate Shared Blocklist for dental groups. Exclusions set at the group level apply automatically to all practice locations in the group. Contact Airlocum support or your account manager to activate this feature.

Does blocking a locum affect other practices on Airlocum?

No. Your Blocklist only affects your own practice's search results and booking requests. It has no impact on other practices on the platform.

Can I block a locum I haven't worked with yet?

Yes. You can search for any registered locum by name and block them proactively. Use 'View Profile' first to review their ratings and qualifications before deciding.
